The company was founded in Bad Mergentheim, North of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany in 1975 as Bartec Barlian Technik with the philosophy that "Bartec protects people and the enviroment by the safety of components, systems and plants."

Today Bartec has developed into an international high tech company having offices all over the world, which Bartec UK Ltd is proud to be part of, leading the hazardous area industry in the supply of safety technology.

Bartec manufactures, supplies and collaborates with other major companies in the production of hazardous and non-hazardous trace heating tapes, junction boxes, thermostats, control panels/stations, hazardous motors, switchgear, hand held computers and associated anscillary equipment all with an after sales service.
