Company Description

Bitex was founded by Mr. Kinga Hsieh in 1981.
Mr. Hsieh spent his early years working in his father's bike shop and playing the piano on a successful Taiwan television show in the 1950's and 1960's. At the age of 13 his father called him home to work exclusively in the family bike shop. During this time and in the proceeding years he developed an extensive knowledge of the bicycle industry. As an inventor, he developed and innovated various bicycle parts during the past 30 years. He made the first coaster brake in Taiwan, and as a result Taiwan coaster brakes replaced those previously made in Japan.
When he concentrated his talents on the bicycle hub, he became a leader in the production of the 6 piece hub, then further refined it to the 3 piece hub. His goal was to develop a stronger, lighter, higher performance hub than the industry standard, and one that would be more versatile than the competition. In 1990 Mr. Hsieh was the first to submit data for the patent of the one piece hub, and today Bitex is the leader in one piece hub technology. With patents listed in the United States and worldwide, Mr. Hsieh and Bitex continue their vision and success by making innovative, quality bicycle hubs.
