WAP stands for "Wireless Application Protocol". WAP enables mobile users with wireless devices to easily access and interact with information services. WAP is not a single standard for data communications or document formats, but a whole suite of specifications ranging from data transport Protocols to the WML, which is a markup language similar to HTML, but based on XML and specifically designed for wireless devices.

SMS stands for "Short Message Service", available on digital GSM networks allowing text messages of up to 160 characters to be sent and received via the network operator's message center to your mobile phone, or from the Internet, using a so-called "SMS gateway" website.
