The main drivers of this export growth were: Rice, which earned nearly US$ 2.3 billion in exports showing over 8 % growth; Textile and Clothing, which crossed the US$ 10 billion mark, showing a growth of 7% over last year; Fruits and Vegetables, whose exports more than doubled as compared with last year While our traditional markets of the U.S. and EU have remained static or even slowed down, our exports to regions of Africa and Asia, as well as Russia, and the C.I.S. are showing robust growth. As per the latest available data, Asia (including Russia) now has 44% share in Pakistan's total exports compared to 21% for USA, 26 % for Europe, and 6.5 % for Africa.
