WHO IS ZULFIKAR FIDANCI ?

Zulfikar Fidanci was born on 24th April 1968 in Adiyaman. He started elementary school there; then on the second grade they moved to Izmir and finished secondary and high school in this city. In 1988, he won Graphics Departments of Fine Arts Academy in 9 Eylul University in Izmir as a start of Art.

He prepared wrapping for a lot of firms and brands in Turkey and abroad. During his career, maybe living in Aegean Part of Turkey so far, he started to search fort he historical process of olive oil, its quality and production.

Since he decided to branch out into wrapping designs in 2003, he has prepared conceptual wrapping designs. He has written articles in magazines on graphic designs and printing press. He has also shared his knowledge and experiences with the youngs at universities and fine art schools. Meanwhile his ex-tutor, Prof. Dr. Goren Bulut invited him to give lessons fort he students of Graphics in Yasar University.

His wrapping designs, more than six hundred-two hundred of them for olive oil-have been on the shelves in markets to meet their consumers in Turkey and abroad since 1998.

The artist, who combines olive oil from his private life to his career with a great passion, expresses this extraordinary combination like this:
"Form me, olive oil is a life style that I lose myself in when I think of it; but I regain my consciousness when I design for it". In my opinion, designing fort his product is a time travel to the ancient civilizations and myths in Anatolia, to byzed.comlcome Athena in Olympus and the dove carrying a branch of olive oil after the Noahs Flood.

I have examined the wrappings for olive oil and the presentation of it to the consumers for years. Consequently, I have been disappointed with all those presentations, so I have made my own starting point up. At the beginning I formed a motto-created by my Professional principles - "I am interested in what the people are not doing; not what they are doing". With an early start a day, approximately ten or twelve working hours, I spend nearly six hours to search for the things what the people are not doing and what I can do.

Zulfikar Fidanci has been given eight international prizes, seven of them were given fort he olive oil wrappings and all were from the abroad forums, fairs and wrapping occasions.

He ignores those prizes because he thinks "Prizes make people proud; but also they are the things that flatter someone and make them spoilt".
