Chongqing Institute of Daily-Used Chemical Industry (CIDUCI）is originally the “Research Laboratory of Balmy Industry of the Ministry of Light Industry of PR China (MLIPRC)” approved by MLIPRC in 1956 and is one of the specialized R&D institutions of balmy in China. In 1958, it was changed to be administrated by the Department of Light Industry of Sichuan and renamed to be “Sichuan Institute of Daily-Used Chemical Industry.” In 1983, it was transferred to be under the leadership of both Chongqing Bureau of Light Industry and the Chongqing Science & Technology Commission (CSTC), reserving its original name of “Sichuan Institute of Daily-Used Chemical Industry.” In 1998, Chongqing Bureau of Light Industry had administratively and completely transferred the “Sichuan Institute of Daily-Used Chemical Industry” to be affiliated to CSTC. In 2002, it was transferred to be an enterprise and renamed as “Chongqing Institute of Daily-Used Chemical Industry” and is affiliated at present to the Chongqing Academy of Science & Technology. It is a comprehensive scientific enterprise that is committed to integrating R&D, productions, sales, and technical services. CIDUCI is mainly engaged in productions of spices & essences, daily-used chemical products, food additives; and separating & purring of natural active substances (spices, Chinese herbal materials and natural materials) as Chongqing Institute Of Daily-Used Chemical Indu...ll as engaged in R&D of new products. It is also among the tasks of CIDUCI to construct a base for natural spices, to make intensive processing, blending of flavors, and biological applications of natural products. CIDUCI is at present consisting of the Laboratory of Natural Spices, Laboratory of Synthetic Spices, and Laboratory of Flavor-Blending and Laboratory of Food Additives, Laboratory of Analytical Detections & Tests, Information Room, Workshops for producing spices & food additives and Workshop for pilot plant tests of supercritical molecular distillations. CIDUCI is equipped with small and mediate supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction, molecular distillation, microwave extraction and ultrasonic extraction; and owns advanced gas LCQ Series, high-pressure liquid chromatics, high-precision densitometer, refractometer & spectropolarimeter, infrared & ultraviolet spectrophotometers, spice database, etc. Thus, it is capable of offering its services to relevant industries and enterprises for R&D of new products and quality control. In addition, CIDUCI also serves as the venue to which the Chongqing Training Department of the Center for Professional Training of China’s Association of Spices, Essences & Cosmetics is affiliated, and is capable of serving enterprises for personnel training. The R&D and technical eservice platforms, such as the Chongqing Center for Promoting Supercritical Fine Chemical Engineering Productivity and Chongqing Center for Controlling Engineering of Separating & Purring Process of Fine Chemical Engineering, etc. that are affiliated to CIDUCI, have successively formed long term strategic partnership with the Institute of Earth’s Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Science & Technology; Chongqing university; Southwest University; Chongqing Technology and Business University, etc. It has also signed an agreement on developing overall “Production-Teaching-Research, ” i.e. the so-called CXY-cooperation with the Chongqing Lingfang Biological Technology Co. Ltd., Chongqing Sanhen Agricultural Development Co. Ltd. and Jinggu-Bangyong Biological Resource Development Co. Ltd. etc. CIDUCI has accumulatively completed more than 170 national scientific projects and obtained 280 scientific outcomes. Thus, it has received 49 Awards of Scientific Achievements and Awards of Progress from the MLIPRC, Province of Sichuan and Municipality of Chongqing.
