Founded by Christine chu earlier this year, christine lifestyles is the culmination of her lifelong appreciation of the finer things of life and the joy that beautiful furnishings and fine art can bring.
Blessed with the opportunity since her childhood to meet people from all walks of life and enriched by her experiences with many different cultures, christine developed early on a passionate love for beautiful things that enhanced her enjoyment of life.
Trained as a dancer in Seoul, Korea, Christine CHRISTINE LIFESTYLES LTDnt on to study at the San Francisco school of ballet before moving to Hong Kong in 1979 to begin a career as an airline cabin crew member.
Her new job provided Christine the chance to travel extensively and stimulated her interest in visiting private galleries and great museums around the world. She also began collecting art, household items and furnishings from chic galleries and fashion centres across Europe and Asia and over the years continuously added to her extensive collection.
Friends, who have visited over the years her various homes in Hong Kong, repeatedly complimented her on her taste and refinement and avidly encouraged Christine to be enterpreneurial and share her lifestyles concepts with others. For Christine, once the idea was instilled, there was no turning back, and on May 6, 2005, christine lifestyles gallery was established.
When you enter Christine's second floor gallery in Wyndham street, Central, you feel like you have been transported to a romantic 19th century parisian salon. The gallery is intimate but spacious enough to display over 25 fine paintings rotated from over 100 itmes. In the centre of the gallery is a large beautifully laid table featuring 24-carat gold limoges porcelain tableware fit for royalty, crystal galssware and silk floral centerpieces that together create a stunning visual feast.
