Q : Where is CRAIGWOOD based?
A : Our financial & administration centre is in Hong Kong. Craigwood 's merchandising office is just a couple of hour's train ride away, in Guangzhou and our factories are located around the lush Pearl River Delta of southern China.
Hong Kong is a world class shopping destination and many designers love to do their shop research here, design and launch samples all in the same trip. It's a big time saving. Hong Kong is also a world financial centre and super efficient logistics hub.

Q : What's so special about the south of China for jeans production?
A : The water. Southern China, particularly the Pearl River Delta is famous for it's abundance of soft water. The trouble with other areas of China, particularly the north, is that the water supply can vary from season to season and the hard northern water requires treatment before it can be used in an industrial laundry. Unfortunately the water softening process has adverse reactions to the chemicals used in denim washing. So for denim, the most complicated washes are best done in the south.
Q : Can you make denim to our specs?
A : Sure. We've developed denims for several of our clients. It's subject to minimums of course. One of the biggest advantages of us developing your denim is that the lead times for production will be dramatically improved. No more waiting 60-90 days just for the fabric.
Q : What about accessories like buttons & hangtags, can you produce those too?
A : Of course. We know that making jeans isn't just about the denim, sewing and washing. So we'll pay as much attention to the other details and source the best accessories, buttons, rivets, hangtags. embroideries and applications.
Q : Can Craigwood supply selvedge denim?
A : Yep. No problem. Pure indigo, blue-black, even rare broken twill selvage denim. We've got selvage denim fanatics on our team.
Q : Do you provide pattern cutting services?
A : Yes, we often make the patterns for casual down & padded jackets. Although for garments that require crucial fit such as jeans and fitted jackets, we prefer the client to supply their own patterns either paper hardcopies or on disk. We use the Gerber CAD system.
Q : What are the lead times for sampling?
A : If the fabric is in stock, 2-3 weeks should do it, much depends on if the customer supplies the pattern, if the garment needs washing etc.
