Delmonte Younga Didacus Cameroon (DYD) is an Agro Industrial Company created in 1987 as a public establishment to acquire, develop and operate extensive plantations of tropical crops. The Fruit sector is being managed in partnership with a foreign partner, Del Monte at Tiko and exclusively by CDC at Ekona. The mission is to grow and market Banana as an export produce. There are two main plantations at Ekona and Tiko. Ekona plantation is located at Molyko in Buea sub-division
and is the smaller of the two with only hectares. Its management as at today is directly by CDC and the fruit is sold to Delmonte. Tiko plantation is managed by the CDC/Delmonte partnership. This partnership started in 1987 and has successfully operated up to today.
