Company Description

Before starting his own company, he worked as plant manager for several (road-)construction companies, in The Netherlands and abroad. (Africa)In this position he was responsible for the purchase, planning, maintenance and transportation of heavy-duty equipment and rolling material. Supported with his technical background and trade experience, Ger decided to establish his own trade-company, HTB-v/d Hurk Technische Bedrijven, in 1982. With HTB he focussed on the domestic market with the supply of tools and heavy-duty equipment to the building industry and consultancy in the field of plant management. (On invitation of the World Bank, HTB GTM-Global Trade Mediationre several years member of THE WORLD BANK-BIOS, furthermore were HTB priveliged member of the European Community in Brussels.) For trade on international level, Ger established MSI – Marketing and Supplies of Industrial equipment. So far MSI conducted export projects in the field of landscaping, water-treatment, irrigation, solar-energy, food and heavy-duty equipment. Various projects have been executed in Abu Dhabi, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Libya, Swiss, and Tanzania. At the moment Ger has connect the following companies to a Libyan company: BT-International AB - Sweden (a large Forklift manufacturer), Cascade Corp. USA (Material handling products for Lift trucks), ELOPAK Norway (Manufacturer of Fillinglines and PUREPAK cartons), Ingersoll-Rand Corp. USA (one of the largest compressors manufacturers and POLS Generators BV The Netherlands (leading generators manufacturer in The Netherlands). Furthermore has J. Ger van den Hurk in the Benelux built up a chain of Dealers, (15 in The Netherlands, 2 in Belgium and 1 in Luxembourg), for the re-sale of an Emergency Escape Smook Hood MSI - Marketing of Survival Instruments has the Sole Agency from DuPont Canada. At present Ger with GTM-Global Trade Mediation (*****) collaborates with a network of decision makers in various types of industry and at different organizational levels. For about a decade and performs as a consultant for companies, which have the goal to enter the African / Asian market.
