The Company has been formed to develope a product range of electric bicycles. The growth in electric bicycles are set to expand dramatically in the next few years. The electric bicycles on sale now accept for a few expensive ones, look ugly and do not promote an image that would suit a mid earner who wants to use an e-bicycle for transportation for convenience who wants to avoid traffic jams, parking restrictions and conjestion charging and is of cHarvey Jonese ecologically responsible and cheap to run. China and Asia have a mature market in Electric bicycles but are different, in that looks are sacrificed for functionality. The market is set to expand rapidly in this sector especially with the mid earner who see the electric bicycle as a gimmick which lacks a cool image. The market has also been adhanced by the developement of the lithium phosphate batteries or (lifepo4) the life and weight and waste disposal has been improved over the older NiCad and lead acid battery.The initial bike is to be twin powered bike (250W road legal 400W off road). The bike is to be mountain bike style. The bike is to have the same performance as a premium bike in an unpowered state.The import duty from China to Europe for bicycles is 48.5% (anti-dumping) which is expected to continue for the next 5 years, whereas for power assisted bikes it is 6% so this will open up the market for bicycle manufacturers and the manufacturers of ebikes in China.There are 2 approaches 1) Obtain the parts then assemble in the UK 2) The bicycle manufacturer to assemble all of the parts to the specification.
