I-berhad was established on 1967 under the name of sanyo industries (malaysia) sdn bhd. It was listed on the main board of the klse on 1969.

The company produces a wide range of eletronics & electrical appliances which inculde air conditioner, digital cameras, DVD player, digital video, microwave, vaccuum cleaner, rice cooker, home theathre and so on.

The i-brand name was lauched in 1999 and it is today malaysia's fastest growing brand. It is also the no.1 selling brand in digital cameras. In year 2002, the i-brand was awarded the superbrand status by the international council of superbrand UK. On the local front, its products received the Malaysia good design award for design innovation.

Having established itself in the domestic market, i-products are now exported to countries such as Europe, asean and middle east.
