Jeevagram being a registered charitable society, who's existance is to up lift the marginalised and down trodden. JEEVAGRAM Organics undertake employment generation programs for the rural poor in India over and above cast creed or politics.
Our major concern is to organise rural women in order to educate and empower them. At present there is about 300 groups of women across the state of Kerala.
There are various employment generation programs for this women, like Coir production, Wax candle manufacturing, Production and marketing of Curry powders, vegitable production, etc.
Also Jeevagram runs Medical stores for the poor, where they will get medicine at a very low price. There is two centeres in Kerala.
Organic farming is a project undertaken for the uplift of small and marginal farmers of Kerala. Now there is 300 such farmers under this project, who produce variety of Spices. The major spice is Nutmeg and Mace. As per this year's estimate the quantity of Nutmeg available is 75 MT and Mace 8-10MT.
The products are been pooled under the auspices of Jeevagram for minimal processing and marketing.
The farmers are eligible to get a minimum organic margin of 25% on the prevailing market price of their products.
Jeevagram Provides them free guidance, training and Organic certification etc.
Now the International certification is carried out by Lacon GmbH, A company Based in Germany, through its branch in Kerala.
The farmers are supported by jeevgram to get quality organic inputs as well as timely advices.
