Established in 1992, MCMC operates the only coke and anthracite coal processing plant in the country and is presently one of the major suppliers of coke breeze and anthracite coal in the country. Mission The incorporation of MCMC is based on the following objectives:- - To be the most successful and reliable supplier of coal by-products especially coke breeze, anthracite coal and foundry coke to steel mills around the country and beyond. - To supply and fulfil customer needs for products and services with the highest quality and standards. - To be part of the support industry that will complement other major industries in the nation towards achieving the goal of Vision 2020 i.e. by making Malaysia a developed country by the year 2020. - To increase local and Bumiputra participation in trading, manufacturing and supplying of manufactured products in Malaysia and the world. General information In many countries, Small and Medium Industry (SMI) plays a vital role towards industrialisation development. In most Asian countries, more than 80% of the industries are SMI type. The importance of SMIs to an economy is Malaysian Coalll underlined. Spurred by their successes, Malaysia is treading the same path by giving due emphasis to such enterprises. MCMC operates the only coke and anthracite coal processing plant in the country and is presently one of the major suppliers of coke breeze and anthracite coal in the country. (Note: The difference between coke breeze and anthracite coal is mainly the size of the material – coke breeze ranges from 1-10 mm whereby anthracite coal ranges from 10-40 mm diameter but both consists of same carbon content.) MCMC is poised for stronger growth for the coming years and it is anticipated that additional capital and investment will be required.
