ACTIVATED CARBON is defined as an amorphous carbon subjected to thermal treatment with oxidizing gases, vapors or mixture of both (steam) to increase its adsorptive properties.

MAPECON specializes in activating coconut shell charcoal using steam activation at 900 degree celsius in a massive kiln in Alaminos, Laguna, Philippines (Plant site).

MAPECON manufactures Activated Carbon for different uses in different mesh sizes, depending on the application and customer requirement: 4x8, 6x12, 8x30, 12x40, 30x70, 70x325 or powder.

Activated Carbon has an array of uses due to its highly adsorptive capabilities. Some applications are: water purification, gold processing, air purification, odor adsorption, cigarette filters, food preservation, chemical processing, food and beverage manufacturing.
