Company Description
Novapine is an agro-processing operation involved in the procurement, drying and marketing of dried pineapple fruit in the Hluhlu
Novapine region of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. 6 metric tons of dried pineapple rings, wedges and cores are processed per month. This fruit is processed and dried in industrial kilns and packaged in bulk quantities for wholesale ***** above processing currently produces 3 dried pineapple products namely: Dried pineapple rings, Dried pineapple pieces, and Dried pineapple cores. Technical specifications and photos are available on request. A distinct competitive advantage that the Novapine suite of products enjoy, is that they are exclusively produced from the "Queen Victoria" variety of pineapple which has a naturally high sugar content relative to other varietals such as the Cayenne, produced in other parts of South Africa. The drying process furthermore concentrates this natural sweetness resulting in a natural dried fruit which does not require any added sugars whatsoever. Drying takes place throughout the year at an off-farm drying and pack house facility registered with the Department of Agriculture (DOA) and certified (SA GAP) by the Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB) . Certificates of conformance and analysis are available on request. There is a full chain of traceability from harvesting through to packaging of the final product via batch control codes which identify inter alia the grower, packer and processing date of the fruit.
