The Indian oil industry has an annual turnover of over US$ 32 billion, a crude oil production of 30 million tonnes per annum (MMTPA), a refining capacity of 60 MMTPA, and employs more than 1,20,000 personnel.  To date India has developed sufficient indigenous human resPetroleum India Internationalces to operate and maintain the entire available petroleum sector infrastructure without any foreign assistance.  The Indian Oil Industry infrastructure consists of 14 oil refineries, a network of pipelines and matching marketing and distribution facilities.  The development of indigenous expertise has meant that the India oil industry has a full range of specialists who can deal with problems relating to all aspects of the industry.
