Company Description

From its roots in 1990, Poynting Antennas has grown to become a substantial supplier of advanced antennas. The company was initially involved in antenna and RF consulting, antenna placement studies by simulation, and specialised antenna design. In 1997 Poynting Innovations was founded, and grew while doing consulting, RFID tag design, and modest antenna production. The year 2000 saw the launch of Poynting Antennas, an antenna manufacturing company to complement the design skills in Poynting Innovations. Currently based in Wynberg, Sandton, in the industrial heart of South Africa, Poynting has two buildings totalling 2300m2 for administration, engineering and production. The company has grown to employ 165 people in July 2007, out of which 18 are qualified engineers. Poynting Antennas is organised into two divisions: • Commercial (Cellular and Wireless Data Network) Antennas • Defence and Specialised (DS) Antennas The Defence and Specialised (DS) Antennas division is involved in the design and manufacturing of Poynting Antennas (Pty) Ltd range of military and specialised antennas: * Direction-Finding * Monitoring * Jamming * Omni-Directional/ Dipole * Specialised
