CHC's main industries are coal chemicals, salt chemicals, and rubber processing, which mainly produce chlorine alkali,fertilizers, tires, pesticides,intermediates for medicines, carbon black,calcium carbide,inorganic salts, and new chemical materials, in addition to machinery for chemical and rubber production.

It has 18 prominent research institutes and is the one of China's largest technology-oriented chemical groups. Its areas of research include oil and natural gas,coal chemicals,rubber processing,refinery chemicals,new chemical materials, agricultural chemicals,inorganic chemicals,machinery for chemical production, and instruments.

It has 2.9 billion yuan in registered capital and 21 billion yuan in assets, along with seven production bases,18 State-level scientific research institutes,eight trading companies,three chemical machinery works, and 18 geological exploration institutes spread across China.
