Company Description



Signetics began IC assembly and test operations in Korea in 1966 as part of Signetics Corporation, based in Sunnyvale, California. It was acquired by Philips Semiconductor in 1975, and became an independent subcontract service provider in 1995. With almost 40 years of IC business, Signetics is the oldest semiconductor assembly and test facility in Korea.

Signetics is dedicated to superior quality and has been certified to all the major quality protocols: ISO/TS16949 for automotive, EIA599, SAC Level 1, QSS in Ford's TQE, along with DESC and NASA.

Young Poong Corporation acquired Signetics in 2000 as a major shareholder. Young Poong has approximately 12,000 employees among its 25 companies and is ranked by revenue among the top 25 conglomerates in Korea. Young Poong had combined revenue of USD 3.0 billion in 2003 and has a target of USD 3.5 billion in 2004. Signetics, as one of the major companies of Young Poong, has a new business model and very capable financial support propelling it to world-class leadership of the semiconductor assembly & test industry.
