Company Description

1925 Heishiro Ikeda, established Ikeda Denki Seisakusho.
1929 Reorganized as Showa Musen Kogyo Kabushikigaisha.
1937 SMK's Olympic Model 680 dynamic 4-tube receiver was awarded a prize as an outstanding product in the First Radio Exhibition Contest sponsored by the Japan Radio Association.
1947 Restarted as a manufacturer of mechanical parts for electronic appliances.
1976 Established the Showa Ikeda Memorial Foundation.
1978 Listed on the first sections of the Tokyo stock exchanges.
1984 Established SMK Corporate Action Charter.
1985 Company name changed to SMK Corporation.

2004 Sixth SMK technical exhibition "SMK TEXPO 2004" held.
2005 Celebrated 80th foundation anniversary.
