Formerly known as Shenzhen International Technology Innovation Institute co-funded by Shenzhen Municipal Government & Harbin Institute of Technology(HIT) in 2000, Shenzhen Academy of Aerospace Technology(SZAAT) got the current name after the re-construction of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation(CASC), HIT & Shenzhen Municipal Government.

The Registered Capital is RMB 365million($USD 60million), with about 300 employees, among which about 85% are researchers.
