Usha Martin commenced operations as a steel wire&wire rope manufacturing company in 1960. Over the last 45 years, from a small annual capacity of 3600 metric tons(MT)it has now reached an annual capacity of more than 125,000 MT in its wire and wire rope plants in India, Thailand, Dubai and UK and 360,000 MT of wire rods and billets at Jamshedpur, India.
The company's manufacturing facilities in India are located at Ranchi and Jamshedpur. Apart from these locations, Usha Martin has plants located in UK, Dubai&Thailand. The distribution centres are spread across India, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia&USA.
Usha Martin is the scond largest producer of steel wire ropes in the world and one of the largest Integrated Wire Products manufacturing companies in South Esat Asia. Equipped with the latest technology, the wires, strands and wire ropes are being manufactured according to a wide gamut of international specifications like BS, DIN, API, RRW, JIS and ISO.
The company's steel plant at Jamshedpur is the first and only one of its kind in India to receive the prestigious award for excellence in TPM from Japanese Institute of Productivity Management(JIPM)To achieve global competency, the company embarked on an expansion program with investment of over US $100 million during last five years with special emphasis on development of products for specialised applications.
