Pakiri Coffee Block

Company Description

Pakiri Coffee Block have a small operation specialising in buying raw organic arabica coffee beans from remote parts of the highlands of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The arabica beans come from coffee trees tended in family blocks or plots at medium to high altitudes (10-15,000 ft). We started out as a small company in 2002 to meet the needs of the small family coffee growers in the remotest parts of the highlands of PNG. Therefore, our business is sourcing and selling raw, organic arabica, green coffee beans. From the remote highlands regions of PNG, poor road infrastructure and rugged mountainous terrains make it extremely difficult for organic coffee beans to reach the export market frequently. Consequently only small quantities of organic arabica raw green beans are exported from PNG every year. Our operation charters out twin otters to transport beans from the remote areas to the nearest port, which is Lae. We strive to meet the quality and quantity, when requests come in. We regard our beans to be high quality because they are organic, being, grown in areas unaffected by modern farming methods. When beans are out of stock we are able to organise delivery to the Lae port within two weeks. The small operation is run by between 15 to 20 people.
